An outside-in analysis of what a business communicates to its customers, where the public story breaks down, where friction may be costing business, and what appears worth addressing.
See the Commercial DiagnosticThe Desk combines structured research, public and client-supplied evidence, software, AI-assisted analysis, and human review.
The tools vary with the question. The standard does not: claims should be traceable to evidence, uncertainty should remain visible, and the final analysis should be useful enough to support a real decision.
The underlying workflows, prompts, scoring methods, templates, and implementation remain internal to Wild Thyme Studios.
We use AI where it improves the speed or breadth of research, comparison, synthesis, and analysis.
We do not treat AI output as judgment. Wild Thyme defines the question, evaluates the evidence, reviews the analysis, and determines what is delivered.
As the tooling improves, more repeatable analytical work can be automated without turning the final result into generic machine output.
The Desk draws in part from the idea of ziran / 自然: “self-so.”
LLMs are highly responsive to the frame imposed on them. A leading question, narrow context, or forced structure can produce an answer that fits the frame rather than the evidence.
Our approach is to create enough structure for disciplined analysis without forcing the conclusion in advance. Define the question. Gather the evidence. Test what appears to be true. Preserve contradiction and uncertainty when they remain.
The goal is not to make the evidence fit the model. It is to let the shape of the evidence emerge clearly enough to act on it.
The Intelligence Desk is one capability inside Wild Thyme Studios.
It currently powers the Commercial Diagnostic and can also support structured analysis within client engagements.
It is not the engine behind everything Wild Thyme does. Architecture, implementation, product development, advisory work, and experimentation may have nothing to do with the Desk at all.
